National Hurricane Center in Miami reports a tropical disturbance has has developed into a tropical depression off the east coast of Florida Monday.
As of 5 p.m., maximum sustained winds are 30 mph. But NHC says the depression is less organized than earlier reports.
It continues to move northwest along the east coast of the state, but it’s expected to turn north and northeast with an increase in forward speed Tuesday. The NHC track keeps the center of the cyclone offshore of the coast.
Significant strengthening of the depression is not expected, with predictions that it will break apart by Wednesday.
