GOLDEN GATE ESTATES, Fla. — A 22-year-old man is in custody following a high-speed chase that led to a four-car crash and a drug bust, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.
Claudelle Philistin, of Naples, was arrested Wednesday after hitting multiple cars while fleeing deputies down Golden Gate Parkway.
This marks the second car chase in the county within the last two days.
The pursuit began around 4:30 p.m. on the Golden Gate exit ramp from Interstate 75, deputies said. It is unclear why deputies were chasing Philistin.
During the chase, Philistin crashed into four cars before leading deputies on a foot chase near mile marker 105.
However, deputies were able to catch Philistin. When they returned to search his Kia, they uncovered what appeared to be drugs and stacks of money in his trunk.
Some of the people involved in the crashes were transported to the hospital, but everyone if expected to be OK, deputies said.
Philistin is in custody facing charges of armed trafficking, fleeing police and leaving the scene of an accident.
Investigators are still processing the drugs they found in his car.
